15 Annual Fish For Kids • Learn How To Fish! May 12, 2018 • 9am to Noon • Osprey Point • 3346 Monroe Road, De Pere, WI 54115
Here are some of the comments Fish for Kids has received from happy participants including kids, parents, and grandparents! If you haven’t made it to a Fish for Kids event, make this year your first! It is awesome! But don’t just take my word for it…
People always ask me why I continue to do Fish for Kids Fishing events…after reading some of these testimonials I think you will realize why I do what I do!
Tony we attended your event this year for the first time, my boys loved it and since they did not have a fishing pole you were so kind and generous to give them poles to keep. We went fishing last night and my little guy Jacob caught his first fish with his new pole – a bullhead and here is the photo. Both of my boys are ecstatic to have fishing poles and so am I for being able to take them fishing now. They have been thru so many changes in the last year with the divorce, and now I can do something we all love and being a single mom is not so bad on days like Saturday and fishing last night.
God Bless you and everyone that puts a hand in this event, you changed 3 lives forever!
I just wanted to take the time to say, “Thank you”. For putting on a terrific event this past week at Voyager Park in De Pere. My sons Logan and Landon attended the event and had the time of their life. This was our first year attending the event and I heard about it from my sister Abby Schultz who volunteers.
As a parent the event was very educational and the kids had a great time.
Have a Great Weekend,
Just wanted to drop a line J and say thank you so much for the Fish for Kids event at Voyageur park. It was so much more than I expected. I was thinking there would be booths and the kids would “watch” demonstrations and that sort of thing. I had no idea it would be so hands on.
All the volunteers were amazingly patient and kind. My kids didn’t catch any fish that day (one of the volunteers joked that “that’s why they call it fishing not catching”) but they so look forward to using their new tackle boxes and catching a really BIG one.
Thank you Tony and all of your volunteers. You are all truly appreciated.
Hi Tony and staff,
I just wanted to thank you and your crew for putting on a great event!!! This was our first time attending Fish for kids, my two nephews, Bobby age 7, and Leroy 8, really enjoyed themselves. Leroy was even lucky enough to catch a small perch. And the hat and pencils and buttons and tattoos and tackle box each boy received really were a big hit with the boys. I thought the event was really well run, and really kept the kids interest at the different stations. My brother-in-law John and myself and the boys are planning on attending next year’s event.
Thank you and you staff again!!!
A free drink……$2.00
A free tackle box with gear….$20.00
A fishing education and time with my 6 yr old grandson ……….PRICELESS
This was our first year and we were blown away…..The organization , spirit, patience and provisions of the day were far beyond what I expected. You and every volunteers stopped at nothing to make a lot of youngsters happy and educated about a great sport/hobby. I really wanted to take the time to thank you, your generous sponsors, and the committed volunteers.
You will be greatly rewarded someday and there is no doubt in my mind that you have created memories and knowledge that kids will carry for many years.
Hi Tony, just a quick note to say thanks and tell you what a great time my son Noah and I had at Fish For Kids in DePere last weekend. He had never been fishing before and he really enjoyed all of the activities. All of the volunteers were so friendly and helpful. If our schedule allows, we will plan on attending again in the future. For us it was more than worth the trip from Milwaukee. You are doing a wonderful thing! Thanks again!
Thank you to you and all the many people who gave so generously to make fishing a wonderful experience for kids today. My grandson, Eli, was thrilled with the entire experience. This will have a lasting impact on his already high interest in the sport. As a child without a father, the opportunity to be mentored by the male volunteers was especially meaningful. Dave from Federated Insurance was especially good with him. What a great day. The prizes were wonderful but the amazing gift of a rod and reel was a total surprise and thrill. You had selected the rod for him and told him he would grow into it. He will. He was taught how to use the open reel and will work on that skill.
If you have this next year, he would love to be part of it.
