If you knew Nick, you were aware that he had a story for everything……work, school, friends, family, hunting and fishing. His smile and laugh could light up a room. This is one of his fishing stories:
He and his friend were fishing with fly fishing rods and flies. They could see a school of carp swimming, however they wouldn’t bite on the flies. Nick decided to rig his line with a small treble hook and 2 split shots on his leader. No bait!
He casted out, waited for the fish to swim under his line, then snagged them in the tail.
A small group of fishermen, who were unable to catch any fish, gathered around and started cheering him on, as he struggled to land that fish on a fly rod.
Once landed, he gave them that fish and two others that he caught. That’s just who Nick was. It was a great day for fishing. It was a great day for Nick.
So, next time you hear the song,”Fishing In The Dark,” think of Nick. It was his favorite song.
Loved and immensely missed by Mom, Dad, Mandy, family and friends.
We will see you at the great fishin’ hole in the sky.
